Well,
I have done my first Mashed/Hackday presentation. The lights out competed the poor LED, must have more power for later.
What is it?
An arduino controlled RGB led(pirahna). The Arduino can be controlled through the serial port to change the color. Currently I have a python program that handles that. Yet to get it reading a file on the internet. Once i get that, then I can integrate it with FireEagle and calculate friends proximity with me, and depending on their distance change the color.

Congratulations Brian! But, you don’t look like you got a lot of sleep in that picture… how much did you end up getting?
